About The Postpartum Season
The Postpartum Season Podcast
The Postpartum Season Podcast was created to hold space for real, honest conversations about life after birth.
Through sharing women’s stories, the podcast explores the full spectrum of the postpartum experience — the beautiful, the challenging, and everything in between. It is a space where experiences are not filtered or simplified, but shared in a way that helps others feel seen, supported, and less alone.
While birth is often the focus of preparation, the postpartum season can feel unexpected and, at times, overwhelming. This podcast gently shifts that focus — creating room for conversations about what comes after, and what it truly means to move through this season.
This is not a space for perfect answers or medical advice. It is a space for listening, reflecting, and recognising yourself in the stories of others.
Looking Ahead
This work starts with the podcast, but it is only the beginning.
The vision for The Postpartum Season is to grow into a space that supports women not only during postpartum, but in preparing for it.
The intention is to offer support around the emotional, physical, and practical realities of postpartum — helping to reshape expectations and reduce the sense of isolation that so many women experience.
At its core, this work is grounded in the understanding that postpartum is not simply a recovery period — it is a profound transition. A time of matrescence. A time of becoming.
About Me
Hi, I’m Laura — the voice behind The Postpartum Season Podcast.
I’m a mother, a wife, a doctor, a yoga teacher, and someone who has been deeply changed by my own experience of postpartum.
Like many women, I entered motherhood feeling prepared for birth… but not fully prepared for what came after. The postpartum season brought moments of deep joy and connection, but also exhaustion, uncertainty, and a quiet sense of being overwhelmed in ways I hadn’t expected.
It was in that space that this work began.
My background in medicine has shaped the way I think about postpartum care, but this space is not about clinical advice or perfect solutions. It is about listening to stories, sharing experiences, and creating a sense of connection in a time that can often feel isolating.
If you are in this season, or preparing to enter it, I’m so glad you’re here. Take care x
