Episode 21 | Sasha

In this episode, Sasha shares her experiences of becoming a mum to her three children, and reflects on how different each of her postpartum seasons has been.

She talks about experiencing the baby blues after becoming a mum for the first time, the pressure she placed on herself to “bounce back”, and how her mental health later deteriorated as she navigated the demands of motherhood and returning to paid work. Sasha also shares the significant mental health challenges she experienced after welcoming her second daughter, Remy, and the importance of eventually reaching out for professional support.

We discuss the impact becoming parents had on both Sasha and her husband Jesse, the importance of recognising partners’ mental health, and how learning to communicate and work as a team has shaped their relationship.

Now six months postpartum with her third baby, Bowie, Sasha reflects on approaching this season differently - being more open when she is struggling, accepting help earlier and allowing herself to lean on the people around her.

Sasha is also currently training for the 2026 Point to Pinnacle, known as the hardest half marathon in the world, to raise funds for the Gidget Foundation in support of perinatal mental health. If you would like to contribute to Sasha’s fundraising efforts, click the link below:

This is an incredibly open conversation about postnatal mental health, partnership, asking for help, letting go of the expectation that we should be able to do everything ourselves, and the importance of finding, and using, our village.
