Episode 9 | Kim

In this episode, Kim shares her experience of postpartum after welcoming her son, Oscar.

Kim reflects on the days leading up to birth, including working right up until labour began and focusing heavily on preparing for birth itself, while knowing very little about what postpartum would actually be like.

She shares her experience of a fast labour, meeting Oscar for the first time, and the surreal transition into motherhood. Kim also speaks about staying at birth care, the emotional experience of bringing Oscar home, and the early weeks of sleep deprivation and adjustment.

This conversation explores the realities of newborn sleep, the emotional toll of exhaustion, and the desperate search many parents go on when trying to “fix” sleep in the early months.

Kim also reflects on the comfort she found in speaking openly with other mums and how important it was to hear honest postpartum experiences from people around her.

This is a warm and honest conversation about the transition into motherhood, the shock of postpartum exhaustion, and the value of connection and shared experiences during this season.
